X-ray single crystal structure analyses of 5-deoxy-5-C-(alkylphosphinyl)-glucopyranose

X-ray crystallographic analyses were performed on single crystals of 1,2,3,4-tetra-O-acetyl-5-deoxy-5-C-(isopropylphosphinyl)- d -ribopyranoses, 1,2,3,4-tetra-O-acetyl-5-deoxy-5-C-(isopropylphosphinyl)- d -xylopyranoses, and 1,2,4-tri-O-acetyl-5-deoxy-3-O-methyl-5-C-(phenylphosphinyl)- d -ribopyranoses. These compounds have the (RP) configuration at the phosphorus atom with the 4C1 conformation of the pyranose ring, and the conformation supported by NMR studies.
