Abstract

CME Educational Objectives 1. Be able to screen for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults with childhood-onset Tourette’s disorder. 2. Understand the clinical manifestations of late adolescent and young adult ADHD comorbid with childhood-onset Tourette’s disorder. 3. Identify appropriate treatment options for adult and late adolescent ADHD when comorbid with Tourette’s disorder. Now a 19-year-old white man, Henry (not his real name) has suffered from multiple tics and attentional difficulties for many years. He originally presented to the clinic when he was 12 years of age, after experiencing attentional and academic decline in his seventh-grade class, in the setting of a recent parental divorce.
