Abstract
- This paper presents an attractive simple method for enhancing RF-DC conversion efficiency of the rectifier based on voltage-doubler topology for wireless energy transfer systems. The input matching network and output load of the rectifier are optimized for optimal RF-DC conversion efficiency. Improvement of RF-DC conversion efficiency of 60% was achieved over 67% fractional bandwidth. The lower bandwidth is bounded to 0.8 GHz and the higher bandwidth is twice, 1.6 GHz. The proposed design utilizes a balanced T-impedance matching structure. The rectifier circuit is realized using a differential strip transmission line configuration. The simulated and measured efficiencies of the rectifiers for initial and optimized circuit design are illustrated. The rectifier performance is characterized and the results show that the proposed rectifier can typically achieve 78% at 1.1 GHz which considers the mid-band frequency.
