The Influence of Temperature on the Adductor Pollicis Twitch Tension in the Presence and Absence of Vecuronium

Previously, the effect of hypothermia on muscle twitch tension in the presence and absence of neuromuscular blocking drugs has been studied several times. It is striking that few clinical studies have been done previously. Because almost all investigations have been performed within a temperature range not normally encountered clinically, it is unclear if previously obtained results are applicable to every-day anesthesia. Previous results are conflicting. Additionally, the adductor pollicis muscle temperature has not been recorded during cooling.
