El reconocimiento de las nuevas formas de familia en Colombia y su construcción jurídico-social

The family has traditionally been considered as the basic cell of society. In it, the principles of solidarity contribute to the growth of all its members and also to the search for equality as the foundation of truth and justice, principles and foundations for the achievement of an increasingly better society. For the States, changes generated by the social and economic dynamics in the concept of family have forced a reorganization of their legal systems, the stability of their societies and the inclusion and justice of these new organizational forms, guaranteeing rights and duties and procuring the general welfare in that diversity. The article is developed addressing the topic in five moments, namely: 1). Analysis of the historical vision on the development of the concept of family. 2). Presentation of some approaches to the concept of family in today’s society. 3). Examination of the legal concept of family in Colombia. 4). Analysis of the mission and identity of the family in society and in the church. 5). Review of some conceptions about the Social Doctrine of the Church and the family. Finally, the corresponding conclusions are presented. Key words: Family, new forms of family, coexistence, marriage, current society.
