Abstract
- A 450 Mev synchrotron radiation source INDUS-1 is being constructed at the Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore, as a national facility for performing various types of experimental work in the vacuum ultra violet to soft X-ray region of the spectrum. In this facility a high resolution VUV beamline will be set up for various types of atomic and molecular physics experiments/This beamline uses a combination of three cylindrical mirrors which focuses the light originating from the tangent point of the storage ring onto the horizontal entrance slit of a spectrometer. The spectrometer uses a 66.65 meter concave grating having a groove density of 4800 g/mm which is mounted in the off-plane eagle mounting. It will cover the spectral region of 400 A - 2000 A with an average spectral resolution of 0.005 A. In this paper we have discussed the intensity and the imaging properties of the beamline.
