Abstract

Capillary GC analysis of the essential oil of Hyptis suaveolens Poit. grown on Aruba showed high contents of 1,8-cineole (27-38%) and sabinene (12-18%). The oil showed a strong antimicrobial activity against Staphyloccocus aureus.
