Abstract
- A van der Waals-based description of a system that approximates a Lennard-Jones fluid is presented as a density functional theory. Numerical calculations of the density and tension profiles for the planar liquid-vapor interface, the wall-fluid interface, and the wall-liquid-vapor interface are made for this system. The forces associated with capillary rise are determined.
