Piperazines

The preparation and anticonvulsant activity of twenty-four new l-heterocyclic-4-substituted carbamyl- and -thiocarbamylpiperazines are presented. Three were prepared by the reaction of 1-diethylcarbamylpiperazine with the appropriate halogen-substituted heterocycle, while the remaining twenty-one were prepared by the reaction of 1-heterocyclic piperazioes with the appropriate isocyanate, isothiocyanate, or substituted carbamyl chloride. Five of these compounds received maximum anticonvulsant rating by the general testing methods employed.
