P-217: 120% Luminance Enhancement of OLED by Patterned Microlens Array

We demonstrate a 120% luminance enhancement, experimentally and theoretically, by attaching a patterned microlens array film on a conventional bottom emission OLED. Design rules were established qualitatively and quantitatively, which include: (1) pixel size affects the microlens arrangement, (2) smaller pixel has larger luminance enhancement, and (3) luminance enhancement is most obvious at the normal direction.
