Abstract
- Microstructures evolution, mechanical properties, transformation behaviors and shape memory effects of low niobium content (5at.%) NiTiNb shape memory alloys were investigated. It was found that the amount of Nb resolved in the NiTi matrix is closely related to the Ni/Ti ratio and has significant influence on the mechanical properties, especially the yield stress of the alloys. Ti 45.2 Ni 49.8 Nb 5 and Ti 45 Ni 50 Nb 5 alloys exhibits as excellent shape memory effect as the equiatomic binary NiTi alloys.
