Abstract
- Ordinary graphite plate was impregnated by PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) scattering solution to make it suitable for fuel cell collector. The feasibility of impregnation process was investigated, and the process was optimized. SEM analysis showed that the depth of impregnation process was 2.50 mm. Porosity of graphite dropped from 18.20 percent to 3.29 percent after impregnation. There is no detectable leakage of H2, even at a pressure of 0.3 MPa after impregnation with PTFE. The impregnation process has no effect on graphite resistivity. Impregnation process successfully met the requirements for fuel cell graphite collector.
