Study on the influence of physical index of modified PLA filter rod on cigarette smoke index

Abstract

To keep the processing standards unchanged, the modified PLA cigarette filter rods with different tow specifications (3.3Y/40000, 3.6Y/45000) and different draw resistances (3800Pa, 4200Pa, 4600Pa) were selected for the test, and the cigarette samples were tested and analyzed. The results showed that the tar, nicotine, CO and moisture content of 3.6Y/45000 tow cigarette decreased, but the total particles and the number of puff counts were almost the same. With the increase of glycerol triacetate, the tar emission decreased gradually, the CO total particulates and nicotine emission remained basically unchanged, and the moisture content of smoke increased gradually, indicating that the appropriate increase of glycerol triacetate application may be conducive to improving the sensory comfort of cigarette.
