Abstract

Wheat is toxic, addictive and makes people want to eat more junk foods, claim some. They say it causes food allergies, bloating and makes them fat. Others even blame it for various mental disorders. Demand for gluten-tree food is rising rapidly to the extent that many restaurants now promote gluten-free dishes on their menus. Here, Geddes separates the facts from the chaff about wheat.
