Rydberg, ionic, and valence interactions in the excited states of F2

Abstract
- The excited states of F 2 have been investigated as a function of the internuclear distance by a series of configuration interaction calculations. Numerous avoided curve-crossings between valence, Rydberg (3s and 3p), and ionic (F 2 F − ) electronic states have been found. Transition moments from the ground state to the lowest dipole allowed Rydberg states are presented.
