The effects of challenge and threat appraisals on task performance: The role of upward social comparison

This study aims to investigate the role of upward social comparison in the relationship between challenge and threat appraisals and performance employing experimental design. Specifically, we propose that the effects of upward social comparison information will differ among those who are under challenge and those who are under threat, which then will have implications onto performance.
