The single-crystal growth of CeNi2Ge2 and CeCu2Si2 compounds

Abstract

Single crystals of CeNi2Ge2 and CeCu2Si2 were grown by combining two methods: growth from the melt and the Bridgman method. The dimensions of the plate-like single crystals are in the millimetre range. Both compounds probably melt congruently and the CeCu2Si2 compound shows almost equal lattice parameters for different stoichiometries.
