Abstract
- To explore photography's material history, we followed the collecting career of musician Graham Nash. A photographer and photography collector, Nash's activities link the changing views of photography from the late 20th century to the present as the medium became an accepted area of fine art, a lucrative investment, and, most recently, digital. Private collections today play an important role in museums’ photography acquisitions and Nash's collection exemplifies how a collector's taste may create new meaning for existing works.
