Refletindo a humanização: uma experiência educativa com trabalhadores de um hospital da fronteira oeste do Rio Grande do Sul

Introduction: We report the experience of a project at a hospital in the West Border of Rio Grande do Sul, from October to December 2009, with workers from different areas in the hospital. Objective: The study aimed to develop an educational practice with reflections on the National Policy of Humanization. Methodology: There were weekly group discussions about the problem themes, ensuring the exchange of ideas. Results: We identified four main themes: 1) “The daily stress,” related to work overload, 2) “The deficit of communication between the sectors,” communication is sometimes difficult, making the user and the dissatisfied employee subject of complaints; 3) “Family interpersonal relationships affected by situations experienced at work”, causing fatigue and impatience in family relationships, 4) “Workers’ lack of information on institutional rules and routines”, the activities are performed without real understanding of the purpose of the orders received. Conclusion: Education may create conditions for the development of people’s potentials, an instrument for both achieving skills and appropriate problematization of the issue.
