Abstract

This paper addresses the modeling and control of a novel Forward dc-dc converter with multiplexer for active voltage cell balancing of a bank of Lithium-Ion batteries. The modeling of the converter is developed using a state-space averaging model. The control system is based on a cascade feedback linearization approach for the forward converter and an event-driven control based on the voltage of the cells. Simulation results in time-domain allow to evaluate the performance of the proposed voltage balancing system control.
