Abstract

We report on the final result of a precision measurement of the ${\ensuremath{\Sigma}}^{+}$ magnetic moment using the hyperon bubble chamber (HYBUC). HYBUC is a hydrogen bubble chamber with an 11.5-T superconducting magnet and was built by the Max-Planck-Institut f\"ur Physik und Astrophysik and Vanderbilt University for this experiment. A detailed description of the experiment, apparatus, and analysis is given. The final result is ${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}^{+}}=(2.30\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.14){\ensuremath{\mu}}_{N}$.
