Abstract

Several instrumentation systems and operation techniques for the operative treatment of fractures of the spine have been developed and marketed in the past. The surgical goals are decompression of the spinal canal, reduction of the spinal deformities, and maintenance of stable fixation of the spine to permit early mobilization.
