Abstract: A low-cost multi-channel analyzer (MCA) system was developed using a custom-build interface circuit and a PC sound card. The performance of the system was studied using γ-ray spectroscopy measurements with a NaI(Tl) scintillation detector. Our system successfully measured the energy of γ-rays at a rate of 1000 counts per second (cps).
