Geothermal resources of Burma

Burma is one of the countries with geothermal resources that could represent an additional source of energy for fulfilling its future requirements. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Energy preliminary investigations have recently begun on 43 hot springs in 16 areas. Based on the results geological and gravity surveys were then carried out. A brief description is given of the physiography and geology of Burma and geothermal exploratory activity with recent results.
