Abstract
- It has been shown that semantic information, even when task-irrelevant, may bias attention during visual search. To further test the hypothesis that task-irrelevant semantic information influences attentional allocation, we modify a paradigm that is based on a previous study (Malcolm et al., 2016), where a salient distractor will be added into each trial to capture attention. We will examine the effect of semantic information on distractor capture, and whether/how they combine to influence visual search.
