Behavioral laterality across the first year of life in nonhuman primates: Protocol for a systematic review

This project will systematically review the literature on primate behavioral laterality for evidence that subjects less than 1 year of age were examined, and provide a narrative synthesis answering the following questions: (1) what species have been studied; (2) what behaviors have been examined; (3) whether direct statistical comparisons were made to humans, older conspecifics, or another primate species; and (4) if effects were reported, whether individual-level and/or group-level biases were found. A secondary aim is to generate a framework to guide future research on early behavioral laterality in primates.
