RESPONSES TO CATECHOLAMINES IN PYRIDINE NUCLEOTIDE [NAD(P)H] LEVELS FOLLOWING ELECTRICAL FIELD STIMULATION

Measurements of changes in NAD(P)H steady state levels following electrical pulse stimulation indicate that a component of brain cortex intermediary metabolism can be affected in vitro by dopamine and β- but not α-adrenergic agents. Acute morphine treatment inhibits this β-adrenergic response.
