Pyrenoid Proteins and Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate Carboxylase from the Green Alga Bryopsis maxima

Pyrenoid proteins and RuBPCase were highly purified and their peptide compositions were studied with SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Both proteins had a large subunit of 50 kD and a small subunit of 17 kD. The peptide map of the large subunit of pyrenoid was coincident with that of RuBPCase. The pyrenoid had several minor components which were not found in RuBPCase.
