Abstract
- Remote sensing-based models are an adequate tool to estimate carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) uptake by terrestrial ecosystems, and to upscale the results from ecosystem to regional or global scales. In this study we compare three models driven by Sentinel-2 derived vegetation indices together with eddy covariance (EC) measured CO 2 flux and radiation data in order to estimate gross primary production (GPP) in northern Europe forest ecosystems. By integrating high spatial resolution satellite data with cutting-edge footprint analysis and an accurate GPP model, we aim at more precise estimation of GPP at regional level.
