Abstract

Though research on different types of aggression among college students is growing, information about aggression across different contexts in college-aged samples is limited. Moreover, scholars have called for increased attention to the individual differences underlying tendency to engage in aggression. We respond by investigating individual differences and situational factors related to those who engage in aggression and\or are victimized across different contexts. This study examines the relationships between the behaviors people engage in (including sexual, physical, relational, and cyber aggression/victimization, alcohol and cannabis use) and their thoughts, feelings, and personality traits. Specifically, this study is investigating whether the unique information about individuals can predict different types of aggressive behaviors and whether individuals who experience multiple types of victimization are at greater risk for internalizing issues (anxiety and depression). This research could inform intervention efforts on college campuses.
