Abstract
- Based on our original LCD interface technology, the Vertically Differential Encoding (VDE) method for LCD panel interface that reduced the EMI by −15dB [1], we have developed a Color Differential VDE (CD-VDE) with fixed length coding as a low-power LCD interface that can reduce the clock frequency to half without noticeable image degradation. We have reduced the power consumption by 14% for a 14-in LCD with SXGA+ resolution by developing an FPGA with the CD-VDE algorithm.
