Abstract

In recent years, spectrum resources have become tight due to the improvement of wireless communication technology and the spread of high-spec mobile terminals. Therefore, LAA (License-Assisted Access) using unlicensed bands is attracting attention. Some existing researches propose channel assignment and access system selection methods in LAA/Wi-Fi coexistent networks and greatly improve the throughput. In these studies, however, only downlink communications are considered and collisions by uplink communications are ignored. In this paper, first we evaluate the throughput degradation due to collisions quantitatively via preliminary experiments. Next, we propose a new association control method to let a user connect to the AP that can provide the maximum throughput based on preliminary experiments.
