A position‐sensitive detector using a RC network with quasidistributed constants

A simple rugged position‐sensitive detector for electronic readout of charged particles analyzer is described. It consists of a terminated electrical line with almost distributed RC constants. The prototype detector consists of 560 RC groups of total length 28 mm. Techniques pertinent to printed circuits have been used. A mathematical treatment of a realistic theoretical model is presented together with preliminary experimental results.
