Abstract
- Address reprint requests to: Donald Resnick, M.D., Department of Radiology, Veterans Administration Medical Center, 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA 92103, USA The patient had been the product of an uncomplicated pregnancy with an uncertain history of consanguinity. She had never menstruated despite normal serum levels of follicle-stimulating and leutinizing-hormones, 17-ketosteroids and prolactin. Physical examination showed mild cliteromegaly and moderate hypertrichosis of the face and back. Pelvic sonography showed no abnormality. Type II diabetes mellitus had been diagnosed at the age of 13 years. The patient was treated initially with oral hyperglycemic agents; however, two years later she required therapy with insulin.
