Abstract
- This paper is concerned with the electrical breakdown of liquid helium under a simulated quenching condition of superconducting (s.c.) coils; bubble-triggered electrical breakdown of liquid helium has been recognized as the subject of extensive research. The bubble behavior in liquid helium under non-uniform electric field is studied theoretically and experimentally and breakdown voltage is measured as a function of heater power to produce the boiling and discussed on the basis of the bubble dynamics.
