Abstract
- Two new noncentrosymmetric coordination polymers, [(H2O)2Co(BPY)(BPEN)2]·(BPEN)1.6·(BPY)0.4·2NO3·4.65H2O and [(H2O)2Ni(BPY)(BPEN)2]·(BPEN)1.6·(BPY)0.4·2NO3·4.65H2O, have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The structure consists of large rectangular grid networks. The acentricities of the compounds were introduced by unbalanced inclusion species. Both 4,4′-bipyridine (BPY) and 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (BPEN) display pure covalent, hydrogen and bifunctional bonding modes in the structure.
