Abstract
- The steady state performance of the dual active bridge converter has been widely researched before. This paper focuses on the modulation strategy for optimized transient performance of the dual active bridge converter under reverse of the power flow direction. Firstly, normal modulation methods to reverse the power flow direction are presented. The transition time under the normal methods is relatively long and it can cause a DC component in the high frequency inductor current, which can compromise the normal operation of the high frequency transformer. To overcome the drawbacks, this paper presents a novel strategy to modulate the dual active bridge converter during the reverse of the power flow direction. The transition gets faster and the DC component in the inductor current is eliminated based on the proposed modulation strategy.
