Abstract
- Diffuse large b-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma is an aggressive neoplasm, uncommon in the oral cavity and characterized by morphologic, immunophenotypic, and molecular heterogeneity. In this case report, a 67-year-old, obese, white, male patient reported a recent loss of 10 kg of weight in the last 5 months and instability of the maxillary denture. On intraoral examination, it was observed a nodule with inaccurate limits, discreetly purplish coloration in the right hard palate. An incisional biopsy of the lesion on the palate was performed and morphologic findings and immunohistochemical panel with immunoreactivity for ACL, CD20, and ki67 (> 90%); BCL2, CD3, and MUM1 led us to the diagnosis of diffuse large b-cell lymphoma. The patient was submitted to chemotherapy with 6 cycles of R-CHOP with systemic control of the disease and is under medical follow-up.
