Internal model control on hybrid headbox system

Abstract
- Headbox is the key component in a paper machine which has a significant effect on product quality. In this paper, a hybrid model which combines mixing tank and air-cushioned headbox is proposed. In the hybrid model, the mixing tank is taken into consideration, which makes the consistency of pulp controllable. An internal model controller with both good control effect and strong robustness is designed to control the proposed model. With the generalized decoupled object, computational work is avoided, and the designed controller has low order. Numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of this methodology.
