Abstract

Of the moment, the latest bete noire in higher education is open admission policy, that is, admission barriers are so reduced that any graduate of a high school may attend university regardless of program or academic qualifications. Educators are watching the experimental programs of The Open University in England and City University of New York (CUNY) with great interest. The same theme was evident at the 1971 Annual Meeting of the Canadian Service for Admission to College and University.1 References to accessibility to higher education abound in the current literature and open admission is part of that picture.<br />Journal of Educational Thought / Revue de la Pensée Educative, Vol 6 No 1 (1972)
