Abstract

RECENTLY some colonies of a tubularian hydroid were submitted to the British Museum (Natural History) by Dr. S. Markowski. The colonies were found attached to a rope at the intake of Cliff Quay Power Station, near Ipswich, on the River Orwell in July 1959. In general appearance the colonies resembled T. larynx in having a stem height of about 5 cm.
