Abstract
- We address three of the key issues in biomechanics-based cardiac motion analysis: the representation and computation platform, the realistic material models, and the proper deformation formulation. In particular, we incorporate the myocardial tissue fiber structure information, formulate the finite nonlinear deformation situations, and adopt the meshfree particle paradigm which exhibits certain advantages for problems involving large deformation, anisotropic materials, and material/kinematics discontinuity. We demonstrate the ability of our effort through synthetic data and cardiac magnetic resonance sequence.
