Abstract

Use of commercial motion pictures in teaching-learning processes of administration is discussed with visual, interactive and observational texts. This observational study intends to show some cases where the filmic language was used in a context to establish and strengthen work groups, teams and task forces. Data were collected from 120 such groups during two decades, systematically using this type of language. Adopting classifications recommended by Bardin (2002), these groups were the source of observation protocols about sixteen motion pictures. Data analysis was based on reflexive methodology, as defined by Vergara (2005) as well as discourse analysis according to Flick (2004). The issue addressed was how researchers, instructors, and consultants can expand use of the teaching aids available to these people in schools and organizations. Results show that it is necessary to clearly determine what is expected from graduates and teachers taking into account the limitations of this resource.
