Comment on the Frölich charge density wave conductivity

Recent microscopic calculations that explore the Frohlich charge density wave conductivity σF in the region of a mean-field Peierls transition cannot hope to render justice to the far from mean-field situations that obtain experimentally. An approximate theoretical formula for σF that does can be derived on a semi-phenomenological basis, and leads to a crude estimate for the maximum conductivity of one-dimensional metal like TTF-TCNQ.
