Calorimetric Measurements of Energy Deposition in Tore Supra

Abstract

In the framework of the Tore Supra upgrade, one of the final main purpose of the experimental programme is to inject up to 25 MW during up to 1000 seconds and to investigate associated physics and technology issues. Among the latter, development and use of high heat flux components is a central subject, the investigation of which requires a good knowledge of the energy deposition in all parts of the tokamak. Owing to its enclosure into a cryostat, Tore Supra inner vessel and plasma facing components permit precise calorimetric measurements.
