Abstract
- The present problem in rubber industries are melting and processing of polymers and rubbers. The multi-axle melting machine is used to rectify the melting of these materials. In this paper, the polyisoprene is melted in multi-axle melting machine without slag pollution. The melting rate and its processing time also better than other melting method. The melting is brought uniform and its control the chemical composition. Mooney viscosity was determined based on the input factors. Thermocouple, sensor and controller were used to improve the melting process. The melting process parameters are optimized through taguchi optimization method and their parametric effects have been studied through variance analysis.
