Alcohol use in adolescence and risk of disability pension 20-40 years later in Sweden: What role does socioeconomic position play?

Background Risk use of alcohol consumption in adolescence is associated with future disability pension (DP). We investigated if this association was affected by adult socioeconomic position (SEP), and/or changes in SEP from childhood to middle-age. Since risk use of alcohol in adolescence is important for future reduced work capacity, it is crucial to identify if some groups are more vulnerable than other in order to target prevention.
