Abstract
- We have studied the electronic and electromagnetic properties of synthesized Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nickel-zinc ferrite nanopowders. The Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 materials prepared by a pyrochemical nitrate–urea process and a sol–gel nitrate–citrate process have been shown to differ in microstructural, electronic, and electromagnetic characteristics. In the frequency range 1–7 GHz, the Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 ferrite prepared by the pyrochemical nitrate–urea process, with an average nanoparticle size of 33 nm, has a higher magnetic permeability, dielectric permittivity, and magnetic loss tangent than does the Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 material with an average nanoparticle size of 46 nm, prepared by the sol–gel nitrate–citrate process.
