Automatic sizing of particle holographic images via optical correlation and edge extraction

Abstract
- A technique which increases the speed of automatic measurement of particles reconstructed from in-line holograms is presented. The reconstructed field is processed by simultaneous edge enhancement and correlation in an all-optical system. This allows the detection, localization and measurement of any particle corresponding to the filters introduced in the system. Experimental results are presented and discussed.
