Diagnostic of noise at an interferometer by Fourier transformation of disturbances

Mechanical and electromagnetic disturbances, source noise included, introduce noise and 'satellite-lines' into the spectrum. Usually these effects are reduced by computing an average interferogram from individual measurements. We describe a method to identify such noise sources by their own frequency spectrum and thus offer a possibility to eliminate them at their origin.
